A Training Plan with a Cause: If Girls Ran the World Virtual Event to Empower Women Globally!
As I announced in August, I am joining thousands to collectively and virtually run around the world raising funds and awareness to empower girls globally through If Girls Ran the World!
To coincide with the International Day of the Girl, I and other participants will fundraise online and run (or walk) while tracking our miles during the month of October to virtually add to a collective effort to circle the globe. Efforts will benefit organizations which share a common goal of empowering women.
Together We Can Make a Difference
I am excited to be teaming up with Dana Donofree, the Founder of AnaOno, to focus our energies on supporting Jill’s Wish. We are inspired by the work of JILL’S WISH FOUNDATION and wanted to support them by raising money to help women undergoing treatment for breast cancer and their families.
Jill’s Wish is a small grass-roots non-profit providing grants to women undergoing breast cancer treatment. Being impacted by an illness takes more from you than your health. Their mission is to provide assistance to those with breast cancer so that they don’t have to worry as much about financial issues and can instead focus their time and energy on family, friends, treatment and recovery. Grant recipients receive financial assistance for everyday living expenses like housing payments and electric bills. Donations are used to pay living expenses directly to the billing company or creditor. You can discover the stories of some of the wishes they have granted so far here.

My Training Plan for a Cause: A Workout Routine for Walking, Running, Flexibility and Overall Fitness
I am pledging to walk/run 100 miles during the month of October in honor and recognition of women and girls all over the world and the power we have when we join together for good!
While each of us has unique fitness goals and training needs, I wanted to share my training plan for this month! Be sure to check with your health care provider before starting or changing your exercise, diet or lifestyle plan. It is also so important to remain mindful of balance and respecting our bodies to avoid injury and metabolic derangement ( as I discussed in this recent post)!
I would also love to have you join me in the upcoming The Whole Cure Lifestyle Transformation Program: Mind Module where you will learn powerful tools to balance your entire life and mindset, so that you can reach your healthiest self and fulfill your goals!
Here is my general training plan for the month of October, as I log at least 100 miles in support of women! (Click the image to enlarge)
This workout training plan is designed to keep me moving in support of Jill’s Wish, incorporating:

short and longer walks/run
-
body weight strength High Intensity Intervals (HIT)
-
ballet
-
pilates core toning workouts
-
rest days for appropriate recovery
-
active stretching and yoga to maintain flexibility and build long lean strength
Of course, I will be fueling my workouts with real, whole foods like those in my Reset Cleanse!
This workout routine requires no special fancy equipment and can be done without paying for any expensive classes or gyms.
