Going Gluten-Free the Simple Pure Whole Way

going gluten-free the Simple Pure Whole way

Many people are going gluten-free for various reasons. For some, such as those with celiac disease, going gluten-free is not a trendy choice or an option—it is a necessary, life-long way of living to protect their health.

Giving up gluten can be overwhelming and scary if you don’t know where to start. Whether you have just been diagnosed with celiac disease, discovered you have a gluten sensitivity or figured out that gluten doesn’t make you feel your best, you are not alone

Going gluten-free can have numerous health benefits for many people and even be life-saving in conditions such as celiac disease. As someone who has not touched gluten for over 15 years out of medical necessity, I understand the challenge of accepting the shift and navigating a world filled with pastries, bread and pasta.

Fortunately, there are some easy shifts that you can make to give up gluten and go gluten-free without sacrificing your health, social life or tastebuds!

Say YES!

Fall action plan cookbook coverHaving a mindset that you are stuck with the sacrifice and are missing out will set you up for feeling deprived and being tempted to cheat and damage your body. It can also be tempting to just ignore all of it because it seems like too much to tackle or you just don’t want to deal with it.

Instead, see this as an opportunity to say yes! Say yes to your body, to vibrant energy, to lasting health and to real-food nutrition that works for your body

It is so much easier to approach this journey with an attitude that you can and will do this and that this is a life you accept and welcome.

See the Possibilities

So many healthy, delicious and versatile foods are naturally gluten-free. Focus on adding these into your diet and you are less likely to focus on all the things you must avoid and take out of your diet.

Further, naturally gluten-free foods are generally healthier real, whole foods which are free of additives, chemicals, preservative and processed ingredients which support the optimal function of your body and long-term health. Gluten-free processed foods are still processed foods. See the opportunity to go gluten-free and nourish your body with real foods in their delicious Simple Pure Whole forms!

Fruits, vegetables, sweet potatoes, herbs, legumes, eggs and so many other whole, real foods do not contain gluten! Embrace the variety of flavors, textures and options that do work for your dietary limitations and you will not go hungry. See them as possibilities to explore new meals, try out things you never considered before, work on a new recipe and focus on what you can instead of cannot eat.

Become a Chef

No, you don’t have to go back to culinary school to become a professional in the kitchen, but learning to love cooking and spending some time in the kitchen can make your life with food allergies, intolerances or dietary limitations a whole lot easier.

cooking gluten-freeLearning to cook high-quality foods for yourself and those you love is one of the best ways to truly nourish your body and spirit! Many people are intimidated by cooking, especially when it comes to dealing with dietary limitations. It can seem too time-consuming, complicated or draining, but there are so many simple yet delicious recipes and techniques that you can learn to put together satisfying meals, from gluten-free to vegan, paleo to everything in between.

Cooking is a great path to healing. You can set up a gluten-free kitchen to avoid cross-contamination and become comfortable naturally sticking to what works for you and your body.

Yes!! This is such a great way to look at it!! It’s about saying Yes to what we CAN eat rather than worrying about what we are giving up.
