The Whole Cure Wellness Wednesday: 3 Essential Habits for a Stress-Free Life
In today’s fast-paced, over-stimulating and often chaotic modern world, it can be easy to become chronically stressed and depleted. So often we are focused on “doing” rather than “being.” This takes a significant toll on your health and wellness since stress is a major contributor to so many illnesses. While living stress-free is not realistically possible or even necessarily desirable since stress is simply our response to demands, you can learn to cope with stress in a way that protects your health.

The Whole Cure guides you in reconnecting with your passionate purpose and core authentic self by providing a toolkit of practical strategies and exercises that build resiliency and strength for coping with life’s challenges. Like The Whole Cure book and Lifestyle Transformation Programs, today’s The Whole Cure Wellness Wednesday post will give you tools to deepen your connection with what is most important to you and cultivate a life of ease and grace, even in the face of inevitable challenges so that you can be (negative) stress-free!
You have a choice to live your life from peace or to become stuck in a downward spiral of doubt, fear and unease. By cultivating greater awareness, you can break through the boundaries imposed by false stories created when your ego and mind control your life experience. This helps you become stress-free and avoid the adverse impacts of stress.
These pivotal stress management habits will help you relieve the stressors that are controlling your life and cope with the overwhelm before it takes over.
Detoxify Your Personal Life
While non-toxic choices are important when it comes to your food, personal care products and home, it is equally important to make a conscious choice to avoid toxic people and situations. Toxic people can rob our hope and waste our time.
If there are people who incessantly stress you out, inflame you or bring you down, see if you can take a break from them. Making space can help you reevaluate your relationships and decide which ones you want to invite back into your life.
Declutter
Clutter in our environments leads to overwhelm and clutter in our minds as well. It can feel quite stressful to feel like you have lost control of the space around you and are drowning in your possessions.
Clearing away clutter provides space and frees up energy to relax, grow and connect with your true self. Start small with your desk, junk drawer or closet. Get an empty box and begin to purge that which isn’t aligned with your authentic self and the life you truly desire to live. Recycle, repurpose, donate or throw away anything that doesn’t support your ultimate goals and true happiness.
Find Your Passionate Purpose
When we are disconnected from ourselves, our communities and our passions, daily life can seem overwhelming. Sometimes we get so caught up in all that doing that we cease to simply be.
The simple act of slowing down, quieting the mind and going inward, can help you develop your ability to be present. In turn, this can strengthen your connection to your authentic purpose, giving you a clearer sense of passionate devotion.
Begin by taking a pause in your day (no matter how busy it may be) and bring awareness to what is happening in that moment.
Ask yourself: Do I feel fresh and alive?
Practice, finding a calm space in the midst of the craziness of your day to sit in stillness and simply notice what is actually going on in your life.
Consider, what you would do if you weren’t worried about trying to change things?
One of the best ways to create a stress-free life is to engage in work that is meaningful to you and also take time to do what you love outside of your job. Whether you love to hike in nature, spend time with friends or indulge in a hobby, enjoy the fulfillment of being immersed in something that matters to you!
