Spring is in the air and St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner! This Healthy Shamrock Shake Bowl is a vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and paleo version of the seasonal favorite, the shamrock shake. With its creamy texture and minty flavor, you can satisfy your St. Patrick’s Day cravings with real-food ingredients and no unneeded artificial flavors, colors or ingredients.

The gorgeous green color of this Healthy Shamrock Shake Bowl comes naturally from greens and creamy avocado, which also adds some healthy fats for nutrient absorption and satisfaction. I love sorrel in this smoothie bowl in where its natural lemon tang combines perfectly with fresh mint, but baby spinach is delicious too if you can’t find sorrel locally.
While a shamrock shake is a sweet treat, this Healthy Shamrock Shake Bowl stays naturally sweet and delicious without added processed sugars. You can keep it free of added sugar by sweetening to taste with liquid pure stevia drops or use a few organic dates for natural sweetness and minerals. Some natural sweetness also comes from the cucumber.
One of my favorite ways to keep my smoothies like this Healthy Shamrock Shake Bowl creamy, smooth and nutrient-dense (without bananas!) is to freeze some cucumbers to add instead of ice cubes. This low-sugar option adds vitamin C and silica, which supports healthy skin and also soothe the digestive tract.
Vegan Healthy Shamrock Shake Bowl {Gluten-Free, Vegan, Dairy-Free, Paleo, Soy-Free, Nut-Free, Low-Sugar}
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup coconut milk or water
- 1/4 cup avocado
- 1 packed cup fresh sorrel or baby spinach
- 1/2 cup cucumber chopped and frozen
- 8-10 fresh mint leaves
- 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 4-8 drops stevia to taste or 1/4 cup soft Medjool dates pitted and chopped
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a high-speed blender, and blend until smooth and creamy.
- Adjust sweetness to taste and serve immediately with toppings of your choice.
Notes
Oh course, one of the best parts of this Healthy Shamrock Shake Bowl is choosing lots of yummy toppings! You can customize your bowl with your favorite toppings. Some of my favorites are large unsweetened coconut flakes, raw cacao nibs, some homemade granola, a dollop of coconut butter or some hemp hearts!
